Top 6 iconic jewellery 2020

All that glam and sham with the best of jewellery, 2019 has been a treat. Jewellery for a simple Haldi or even for a fabulous bridesmaid look, this year has given us some amazing ideas and pair-ups. What’s also surprising is that people want to accessorize and dress up for everything indoor and outdoor and are bent upon blending the western clothing with some indigenous work. Take a look at the few ideas that have received gaze and envy:

1. Chokers that stand out

We can’t stop obsessing over the beautiful chokers that brides and bridesmaids are pulling off. These statement chokers give the neckline a nice curvy outlook, which is a great thing for V necks or even round necks. Usually the chokers are of contrasting colours to the attire, so plan your shades and colours well. Go with green or red chokers for a deep intense look or straight away grab these mild pastel colour ones if you just want a mild blushy look.

The next choice is deciding the thickness of the choker. This purely depends on your neckline and the dress you want to pair it with. From real thin ones to lawyered chokers, be sure to know what goes with you adding the appeal that it creates.

2. Double layered thick neckpieces

Casual jewellery or bridal, neckpieces with with layers are catching up and a common thing now. Although for casual wear people are flaunting really thin ones, the traditional wear calls for the other ones. From pearls to gems to beads, this look has a very fulfilling touch and these go along well with most types of bridal attires.

Although the trend is to have both layers thick, don't mind some experimentation and see what looks best on you. Do try out the ones that have geometric or square structured work in the jewellery piece decked up by  a gem on top. This is the signature design of this type.

3. Statement rings

Rings play a crucial role in the final feel of the look and choosing a statement ring can make a lot of difference to the look. While you can keep these rings modern and contemporary, you could also go super vintage and classy. The extremes are okay, considering you are vibing the colours right.

Just visualize your beautifully mehandi filled hand with a ring that stands out, if this is something that's your type, go for it. Have an eye for detail and experiment with these beauties.

4. Shoulder drooping earrings

We're not talking about the jhumkas but the flat and long earrings with a bold floral or geometric design that makes people want to look at your piece over and over again. You might as well over do this if your neck piece is really subtle or thin or even plain without any design. Although what else you could try, is choosing a floral design or a shape that can run common in the earrings and neck pieces although the highlight will be in just the earrings and not in the neck piece.

5. Playing with the wrist

Bangles are really pretty and gorgeous, no doubt, but the bracelets are really making the full look stand out. When we say bracelets, we essentially mean the handcuffs that are beautifully designed with either pearls or stones, based on the rest of the theme.

Also consider layered bracelets that go along from wrist to a little backwards with about 4 - 5 layers and a strong stone or pearl in the centre of it all. This may feel a little minimalistic but don't underestimate the power of a linked gold chain.

The other thing you could try is getting a mix of bangles and a statement bracelet, but just be double sure if this idea is not looking like you're overdoing it, cause we don't want that now, do we?

6. The waist curves

Waist Chains are an amazing way to add glamour to the entire attire and hip belts add a sense of strength to the attire, giving it a very heavy look. If you want to be conventional, go with the traditional dabu vanki sets or explore the range of chains that go pleasingly well with the rest of the attire.

In this, you have a choice to stick with the large centre stone, which is usually the highlight or you can go with a belt that has a stone at the side, with either side being the highlight. This takes the monotony out of the waist belts and creates a very fresh look.

Most importantly, remember that it is your day and just go ahead with what you love the most. Yes, we ladies do care about trends but try to give it your flavour and people around you will love your attire for it. It’s a myth that customization of jewellery is expensive, while actually, you can get jewellery done according to your budget and taste than going with what’s already in the rack.
